Lawyers for the Creative Arts is in its 51st year as the only legal service organization devoted entirely to supporting artists and arts organizations in Illinois.
Recognized as "the Red Cross for the arts," * and honored for responding to the challenges of the pandemic though "game changing innovation," ** LCA is a go-to source for free legal help and a broad range of educational programs and services reaching several thousand people every year. Programs such as clinics, nonprofit workshops, financial planning services, and board trainings are available to help individual artists and arts organizations to meet the daunting challenges facing the arts.
The foundation community has supported our new programming. We've welcomed five new foundations as LCA supporters.
Meanwhile, support from law firms, corporations, and individuals accounts for 50% of our budget, and is critical to LCA's stability.
